Untitled No. 294, [06-28-17]
Scope and Contents
Intaglio Print A print depicting images from the Genesis origin story. God is represented as a bald man whose head emerges from the print like a mountain, with a halo of flying cherubs circling around his forehead. His eyes are wide, his mouth gaping open to issue forth life in the form of swirling lines. In a white space is the Tree of Knowledge, and next to it are Adam and Eve. The swirling masses issued forth from God's mouth, eventually take form into sperm near the upper right corner. Four sperm cells circle around an egg cell, and one of them manages to get inside the egg cell, thus fertilizing it. 13" x 10" Donated by a Carthage Student Johnson Arts Center 2nd Floor, Room 229 [Teaching Tool; Internal Use Only]
