Alumni Files
Series 1 includes photographs, newspaper clippings, and many letters from the alumni to Mary Tressler Newcomer in the Alumni Office. The dates range roughly from the 1870s to the 1940s. Series 2 includes alumni record sheets transferred from the Alumni Office in 2012. The dates range from the 1890s to the 1990s. Series 3: Added alumni files based on donations that are not large enough to warrant their own collection.
Alumni Office Correspondence
This collection contains correspondence collected by or sent out by the Alumni Office. The correspondence is primarily with alumni or potential students, but also with a few corporate bodies.
Cox Family Collection
The collection consists of copies of different Carthage College publications from 1901 to 1933 as well as miscellaneous bulletins and memorabilia from 1899 to 1933. The items in the collection come from Carolyn Cutler Cox, a faculty member at Carthage in the early 1900s, as well as her son, Howard Ellis Cox, who was a Carthage student and graduated in 1933.
Harvey D. Hoover Papers
This collection is about a past President, Harvey Hoover, and his writings while he was President at Carthage College.
Paul A. Boatman Collection
This collection consists of artifacts from Carthage College gathered together by Paul Boatman.
Record Books
These volumes represent the early years of Carthage College and its predecessors. The series contains account books, ledgers, enrollment lists, mailing lists, minutes, and letters. Many of the volumes are in poor condiiton; the bindings are weak and the leather is rotting.
Student Handbooks and Code Books 1900-2000s
Student handbooks and code books remain prominent in the college culture, and were used to maintain standards of dress and behavior among students. Additional information about academics, buildings, and behavior for freshmen.
